GameDev: MK

V7 About us

Made in Milton Keynes.

GameDev: MK exists to bring together everyone making games in and around Milton Keynes, to strengthen our local community and to help the industry here thrive.

Milton Keynes is full of people making games. Some work at studios, some freelance from a spare room, some are studying, and some are on their fifth unfinished project at the kitchen table. Plenty of them have never met.

We run regular socials, talks, workshops, playtest nights and game jams so they can. We keep a directory of the local studios and developers so they're easy to find. And we keep the conversation going day to day on our Discord.

The city has a history with computing that runs from the codebreakers at Bletchley Park to the rebuilt Colossus at The National Museum of Computing and the Open University's home at Walton Hall. We think the next chapter should include a lot more games.

Powered by roundabouts, concrete cows and far too much coffee. Come and say hi.

What we care about

01

Everyone's welcome

Students, hobbyists, freelancers, indies and AAA veterans. Artists, coders, designers, writers, composers, producers and the curious. If you make games, or want to, you belong here.

02

Local first

We want MK's game makers to know each other, hire each other, play each other's games and build something lasting right here.

03

Share generously

Talks, feedback, contacts and advice. The community grows when we pass on what we've learnt.

04

Kind, always

Everything we do is covered by our code of conduct. Be excellent to each other.
