Code of conduct

The short version

Be kind, be welcoming and be respectful. Harassment and discrimination of any kind aren't tolerated. If something's wrong, tell an organiser and we'll deal with it.

What we expect

• Welcome newcomers. Everyone was new once.
• Give feedback on work, not on people. Be honest and constructive.
• Respect people's boundaries, time and pronouns.
• Look out for each other, and check in if someone seems uncomfortable.
• Drink responsibly at socials. Alcohol is never an excuse.
• Ask before photographing or recording people, and respect a no.

What's not okay

• Harassment, intimidation or discrimination based on gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, race, ethnicity, religion, appearance or experience.
• Unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention.
• Offensive comments, slurs or imagery, including in games being shown, unless clearly flagged first.
• Sustained disruption of talks, events or channels.
• Sharing someone's personal information without their permission.
• Recruiters or sellers spamming members. Job posts belong in the dedicated Discord channel.

If something happens

Talk to any organiser at an event, message a moderator on Discord, or email [email protected]. Reports are handled in confidence. We'll listen, take it seriously and act, which may include a warning or asking someone to leave and not return.

If you or anyone else is in immediate danger, please call 999.

This code is adapted from community codes of conduct used across the UK games scene. We'll review it regularly, and suggestions are always welcome.
